Workshops and CPD for Professionals

At The EYC Project, we know that transforming outcomes for young people especially those impacted by trauma, social exclusion, and multiple disadvantage requires more than direct work with them. It means investing in the professionals who engage with them every day.

That’s why we offer guest talks, therapeutic and creative workshops, and structured training programmes for professionals working across education, health, youth justice, social care, and local authorities.

Why It Matters

These outcomes aren’t inevitable... However, under supported professionals expected to do critical work with limited training in trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and relationship-based practice will be a contributor to these shortcomings.

Our Offer

Young people, particularly those on the cliff-edge of turning 18, are at significant risk of falling through gaps in fragmented systems. According to research by the Association for Young People’s Health (AYPH). When young people face the transition from child to adult services at 18 they often lose vital support due to poor system planning and changes in thresholds. For instance:

  • 1 in 4 care leavers experience homelessness within 2 years.

  • CAMHS often ends at 18, leaving gaps in mental health care.

  • Inconsistent handovers can lead to youth reoffending or school exclusion.

Stats related to multiple disadvantage like these are rapidly increasing, and becoming far too common. This means working with professionals across sectors to create emotionally intelligent, resilient, and systemic practice spaces can support those in the lead up to this transition, experiencing the transition, or post 18. Subsequently,

Who do we deliver to?

Educators

We help school and college staff of all seniorities understand emotional drivers behind behaviour, reduce school exclusions, and better support students navigating complex home lives, neurodiversity, or school avoidance.

NHS & CAMHS Teams

We build capacity in trauma informed care, helping mental health and frontline health workers respond to developmental trauma, emotional dysregulation, and identity based distress in young people.

Youth Justice & Police

Our programmes support professionals to engage with young people with compassion and cultural awareness, even where there is a history of offending or mistrust of authority. We explore trauma, shame cycles, and de-escalation techniques.

Social Care

We equip social workers and youth practitioners to build trust-based, lasting relationships with vulnerable young people, supporting placement stability, advocacy, and safe transitions to adulthood.

Workshops

  • Emotional regulation and resilience

  • Identity and belonging

  • Understanding adverse childhood experiences (ACEs)

  • Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)

  • School exclusions

  • Adapting systems to support young people

  • Special Educational Needs

  • How to support young people in your role as an educator, youth worker, or lead professional

Advocacy

We know this work because we’ve lived it from both sides. From growing up with adversity and seeing systems fail, to now working in psychotherapy, victim support, education, youth work, and criminal justice, we bring a deep, unique understanding to every room we step into meaning we now have the knowledge that professionals should have utilised to support us during moments of adversity as opposed to sanctioning or not supporting.
