Support for Professionals

At The EYC Project, we believe that professionals are not just service providers they are potential catalysts for change in the lives of young people experiencing multiple disadvantage. Whilst this is true, we also recognise how complex, demanding, and often under resourced these roles can be. That's why our work extends beyond direct support to young people. We are deeply committed to equipping professionals with the tools, insight, and confidence they need to make a lasting difference.

We provide CPD grounded in trauma informed, person centred, and relationship based approaches. Our CPD sessions and bespoke 1:1 support, aim to invoke thought by combining theoretical knowledge to our own professional and academic expertise across psychotherapy, criminology, youth work, and education. We understand the reality of front line work, the pressures, the systems constraints, and the emotional toll, meaning we can help professionals make sense of the behaviour they encounter, explore what lies beneath it, and find sustainable, compassionate ways to respond.

Our support helps shift the focus from "what’s wrong with this young person?" to "what has happened to them and how can I help?". We explore how trauma and systemic disadvantage shape identity, communication, and behaviour, and we offer practical strategies for building trust, maintaining boundaries, and working across complex systems.

Whether through tailored workshops, support with bespoke programme design, collaborative case discussions, or long term partnership, our goal is to bridge the gap between policy and practice in systems that are often far too rigid when trying to support societies most vulnerable young people.

When professionals feel supported, informed, and emotionally safe, they are better able to offer the same to the young people they work with because ultimately, supporting professionals well means supporting young people better.
